Here are select pictures taken at the recent (2024) TMC annual conference held in New Orleans. This is one of the larger technology exhibitions for the on-road trucking industry, featuring everything from components and services to full range of trucks and trailers.
Some Observations
While much of the debates on transport decarbonization make it seem like the industry is torn between the need to sustain current powertrains and the pivot to full electrification, these conferences are a reminder that the real work & progress is happening over a broader spectrum of technologies. These include electrification of partial systems on the vehicle, improving tires and after-treatment systems, applying innovative solutions to make trailers efficient and the use AI-based solutions to track the fleets for reduced fuel consumption and prognostics.
