Dr. Giacomo Belgiorno is Technology Area Leader for Combustion and Emissions in the Advanced Engineering department at DUMAREY Automotive Italia. During his 10+ year career, he has led the development of advanced combustion technologies for high-efficiency and ultra-low-emission engines, working both for and in cooperation with various OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and research stakeholders. Previously, he worked at General Motors and FPT Industrial on engine combustion system development. Giacomo is an active member of SAE and ASME, contributing to science and technology dissemination in industry. He serves as associate editor at SAE International Journal of Engines, Fuels and Lubricants and STEEP. He is co-author of more than 30 technical papers, and he has been a speaker at several SAE Conferences. Giacomo received the SAE Foundation Ford/Young Industry Leadership Award in 2025 and the SAE Forest McFarland Award in 2023.
Dr. Yu Zhang is Combustion Architect at Cummins Engine Business Unit, where he leads combustion system architecture development for future compression- and spark-ignition engines using conventional and alternative fuels. He has more than 15 years of industrial experience in engine combustion and performance development. Dr. Zhang is an elected SAE Fellow and recipient of the SAE Forrest McFarland Award and SAE John Johnson Best Paper Award.
