One Big Beautiful Bill Act, 2025
A summary of some of the provisions in the OBBB Act relevant to on- and off-road transport and fuels.

The One Big Beautiful Bill was was enacted on July 4th, 2025. It is a 870 page long bill with consequential changes made to almost all aspects of the US economy. We have read through the segments related to transportation to prepare the following summary. This includes mostly provisions pertinent to on-road vehicles and fuels, and excludes those for aviation, space and related topics.

Elimination of Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) Civil Penalties – with the corollary effect of diminishing the tradeable compliance credits.
- Modification of the Clean Fuel Production Credit (45Z) – including provisions that promore domestic production of bio-/renewable fuels
- Termination of Clean Vehicle Credits
- Up to $7,500 for passenger EVs
- Commercial Clean Vehicle credits (45W)
- Termination of Clean Hydrogen Fuel Credit (45V)
- Cancellation of funding for various environmental grants
